Mississippi Whole Stuffed Flounder
We left Lafayette yesterday on our way to the Southern Foodways Symposium in Oxford, MS. I called John T Edge, knowing that he would be the best source for lunch while traveling through Mississippi. His recommendation for Jackson was Mayflower Cafe. We started with shrimp remoulade and a cup of seafood gumbo. I ordered a stuffed flounder and Diane got the stuffed shrimp. While we were there we were served a salad dressing called Come Back Sauce. I fell in love with this sauce, which is a thin Thousand Island type sauce with coriander and other spices.
We bought three bottles of this homemade sauce. The Mayflower is a great choice when in Jackson for lunch.
